The Buffalo Bills saw their season come to a heart-wrenching end last Sunday with a 32-29 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game at Arrowhead Stadium. Despite a series of big plays by Patrick Mahomes and his team, some controversial calls left a bitter taste in the mouths of Bills fans and players alike.
Bills GM Brandon Beane addressed the media on Thursday, revealing that the team has been in contact with the league regarding the contentious calls. "It’s frustrating," Beane admitted. "There’s only so much I can say. We work with the league to try to get clarity and I’ll give them credit—they’ve taken our calls, they’ve sent videos and things like that." One of the most debated calls came on a fourth-and-1 play early in the fourth quarter. Replays suggested that Josh Allen might have gained enough yardage for a first down, but the referees ruled him short. The replay officials upheld the decision, handing the ball to the Chiefs, who quickly capitalized with a touchdown. "If you’re talking about the fourth down play, I feel like he got that and I still feel like he got that," Beane said. "Nothing has changed my mind on that."
