West Ham United recently made a significant move to acquire Ricardo Pepi from PSV Eindhoven, but their initial bid of €25 million ($26m) has been turned down. Sources have informed ESPN that West Ham's proposal included a loan with an obligation to make the deal permanent, but PSV was not interested in this arrangement.
Despite the setback, West Ham might return with an improved offer, especially as they are actively seeking a striker ahead of the January transfer deadline due to injuries to Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio, and Niclas Füllkrug. Pepi has been in stellar form this season, scoring 18 goals in 25 games across all competitions. Notably, he netted the decisive goal in a thrilling 3-2 victory over a rotated Liverpool side in the Champions League. His impressive performance has also been evident on the international stage, with 13 goals in 33 appearances for the USMNT as they prepare for the 2026 World Cup.
